Every health center must establish a Sliding Fee Discount Program (SFDP) that is both effective in minimizing financial barriers to care while remaining reasonable and compliant with HRSA requirements. Part 1 of this webinar series will focus on the basic, HRSA-required SFDP elements, consistent with the Health Center Program Compliance Manual.  Participants will also explore the common “high-risk” areas of non-compliance related to these core SFDP requirements. Topics include, but may not be limited to:

  • Establishing, evaluating and updated the SFDP, the Sliding Fee Discount Schedule(s) and Nominal Fee(s)
  • Determining when and how to establish multiple Sliding Fee Discount Schedules
  • Conducting income assessment and eligibility verification processes
  • Notifying patients of the availability of the SFDP
  • Establishing the Board-approved SFDP policy
