HIPAA: Fundamentals

Washington, DC US
February 13, 2018 to February 14, 2018

Designed for Compliance Officers and Privacy Officers, this small group, hands-on two-day training is led by FTLF attorneys with years of experience working with Federally Qualified Health Centers on risk management and compliance issues. The training includes an introduction to the HIPAA Rules and an in-depth discussion about protecting patient health information.

The curriculum includes both the legal requirements and best practices for determining whether a breach has occurred, determining whether a business associate relationship exists, and responding to patient complaints and government investigations.

At this highly interactive training, you will have the opportunity to ask questions in a comfortable setting and receive direct answers from the trainers.  Additionally, you will be able to learn how other health centers tackle similar issues and brainstorm with your peers and trainers on how to build and maintain an effective HIPAA Compliance program.

"I greatly appreciated the way the trainers presented the material. They all made compliance law interesting and even fun! Being new to both healthcare and compliance, I never felt like I was asking a silly question. This program was great to equip me with the tools to at least know where to begin and help overcome the intimidation of taking on a compliance role with no background in it." - Past Attendee

"I enjoyed the small group setting with the various compliance officers. Questions were able to be asked that were answered in a direct manner and without fear that we were not meeting the compliance objectives at our health centers." - Past Attendee
