Like other healthcare entities, health centers are increasingly using social media to market their services, to engage with new and current patients, to provide health messages to the public, and to attract and hire employees. Health center employees, accustomed to communicating via social media personally, often want to expand their social media use to their professional lives without realizing the risks to patient information and their own personal information. Some health centers have implemented strict social media use polices and procedures which may conflict with federal laws protecting employee speech.

In this webinar, we will discuss how to balance the benefits and risks of social media and develop a clear, comprehensive social media policy that supports your health center and complies with applicable federal regulations, including the HIPAA Rules, the National Labor Relations Act and the federal anti-discrimination laws.
