The CHCANYS Compliance and Risk Management Academy is a year-long learning initiative for health center professionals working in the areas of compliance and risk management.  Our partners at Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell will guide participants through a four-part series of in-person and web-based interactive meetings.

MOLLY EVANS (FTLF)

A Partner in the firm’s health law practice group, Molly advises health centers on the management of clinical, employment and workforce related risks, with a particular focus on professional liability, Federal Tort Claims Act, and HIPAA matters. WHITNEY PHELPS (GREENBERG TRAURIG)

Whitney Phelps focuses her practice on providing realistic and strategic guidance, solutions and analysis for all types of healthcare stakeholders, including providers of health care and developmental disability services and payors. Whitney’s experience includes arranging and negotiating complex joint venture agreements. This includes various alternative payment arrangements, between providers and managed care organizations, and other transactions and mergers for clients, with special attention to New York regulatory compliance. Whitney also has wide-ranging experience representing health care entities before the New York State Executive Branch to shape health care policy, Medicaid redesign, laws and regulations. Prior to joining the firm, Whitney was Director of Managed Care and Associate Counsel at the Healthcare Association of New York State.

DIANNE PLEDGIE (FTLF)

As Partner and Compliance Counsel with the firm’s health law practice group, Dianne advises health centers on implementing effective compliance programs and on addressing top compliance risk areas. Dianne counsels health centers and other organizations on developing compliance programs that include the OIG’s seven elements, respond to identified compliance risk areas, and reflect the organization’s culture.  Dianne also advises health centers and other organizations on patient privacy and confidentiality, including the HIPAA Privacy Rule and 42 CFR Part 2.  She has experience responding to privacy and security incidents, including determining whether there has been a breach, notifying patients and the government, and creating corrective action plans. What is CHCANYS Cancellation policy?

All cancellations received before October 11, 2019 will result in a full refund minus a $50 processing fee. No refunds will be offered for cancellations received on or after October 11. "No Shows" are non-refundable. Substitutions are encouraged and allowable. Please email questions@chcanys.org with any substitutions. Audience is restricted to current health center staff; all registrations are subject to approval by CHCANYS. Please allow 2-3 business days for registration to be processed and approved. If offline payment option is selected, fees will be invoiced, and registration will be confirmed upon payment (due within 30 days of receipt or prior to 10/30/19). Due to limited space for in-person events, registration is limited to two individuals per health center. CHCANYS retains the right to photograph, video-record and/or audio-record training participants and to place captured images, recordings, or testimonials in print publications, website posts, or social media posts or other communications. Participants may request that CHCANYS not use or disclose their images, recordings and/or testimonials by sending a written notice to questions@chcanys.org.
