(Recorded Webinar) Head Start At the Bar

This course is closed to new enrollments.

Duration: 90 minutes
Webinar recorded on: 10/21/2020

Head Start is full of requirements and while each organization is different, the same rules apply to everyone. Between the Head Start Program Performance Standards, state regulations, and federal law requirements under the Uniform Guidance, it can be challenging to keep everything straight. In the era of the Designation Renewal System (DRS), getting it wrong can have significant negative consequences.

On this webinar, FTLF attorneys will discuss some of the major existing and emerging high-risk areas for Head Start programs. We will discuss the challenges you face every day in key topic areas every Head Start leader needs to understand, including:

  • ERSEA
  • Head Start Human Resources Requirements
  • Self-disclosures (including health and safety violations)

In addition to explaining the key compliance requirements of these topics, we will also describe realistic strategies to meet these standards, and discuss how to resolve common concerns your program may face.

Whether you are brand new to Head Start leadership or need a refresher on recent changes to the rules, this overview will leave you feeling confident about your ability to understand key legal issues affecting Head Start programs and how to handle some of the murky areas of compliance.
