(Recorded Webinar) Industry Update: Understanding Information Memorandum ACF-IM-HS-22-07 on Reporting Child Health and Safety Incidents

Duration: 50 minutes
Recorded on: 10/26/2022

On September 27, 2022, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Office of Head Start (OHS) issued Information Memorandum (IM) ACF-IM-HS-22-07 on Reporting Child Health and Safety Incidents. The IM clarifies the requirements of 45 CFR §1302.102(d)(1)(ii) for reporting significant incidents regarding the health and safety of children in Head Start programs.

Historically, health and safety violations have been one of the leading causes for deficiency findings and the Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) previously left reporting standards vague and open-ended, but the newly released IM seeks to define to whom the incident should be reported, the reporting timeframe, and consequences for failure to follow those standards.

On this webinar, we will share best practices to help you meet or exceed the expectations for conduct and reporting set forth by OHS in this latest IM and review procedures for staff, consultants, and volunteers who violate the standards of conduct.
