Part II: Managing Complex Property Issues for Head Start Grantees

September 27, 2023

This is Part II of a two-part webinar. To purchase the series, click here.

Head Start recipients must implement the Federal Property Standards under the Uniform Guidance anytime they expend federal funds to acquire, construct, or improve any tangible personal property or real property. In addition to the Federal Property Standards under the Uniform Guidance, Head Start programs must also navigate special property requirements in the Head Start Program Performance Standards. Understanding the impact of the federal interest in your organization’s property is important to prevent exposure to negative consequences for years to come.

This webinar is for anyone who already knows what a “federal interest” is, how it is created, its importance to Head Start programs, and the legal and practical implications of federal interests in the property and wants to dive into more complex issues that arise when federal funds are used to acquire, construct, or improve any tangible personal property or real property.

During the webinar we will discuss common thorny issues Head Start agencies confront when navigating how to use federal funds in property transactions, such as renovating leased facilities, charging mortgage payments to the Head Start grant, refinancing properties with a federal interest, and more!

This webinar is for you, whether your program owns property that already has a federal interest or is considering the use of federal funds acquire or improve property.

Please note: This two-part webinar is offered as a complimentary product to all Head Start Training Package holders. For more information on our Head Start Training Package, click here or Contact Us.
