Issues for Head Start Programs to Consider in 2021

January 27, 2021

Access the on-demand webinar here.

Some of the words used to describe 2020 include unprecedented, hellacious, apocalyptic, challenging, devastating, and unexpected. Without a doubt, the most impactful feature of the year was the COVID-19 global pandemic which caused us to introduce new words into our vocabularies, like social distancing, quarantine, WFH, and Zooming. The Head Start community did an amazing job to transform the way they worked to meet the needs of the country’s most vulnerable communities by safely providing high-quality services both remotely and in-person. In addition to the pandemic, we saw good and bad changes in the DRS (Designation Renewal System), entered the new and strange world of virtual monitoring in the FY2021, AMS (Aligned Monitoring System), and learned of changes to the Uniform Guidance. As we move into 2021, we will start the year off with a new president and administration.

Join Ted and Nicole as they discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly events and issues of the last year and the corresponding impact on Head Start programs for 2021.
