What Every Employer Needs to Know About Employee Exemptions from Vaccine Mandates

February 11, 2022

Access the on-demand webinar here.

As employers grapple with determining the applicability of various federal vaccine mandates and drafting policies to fulfill their compliance obligations, employers face the difficult task of evaluating the merits of employee requests for exemptions based on religious beliefs or medical grounds. Understanding and managing these exemptions, which are respectively rooted in Title VII and the Americans with Disabilities Act, is of the utmost importance. Even the slightest misstep may lead to lawsuits by employees alleging that an employer’s denial of a request for an exemption was unlawful.

In this webinar, we will explain these exemptions to COVID-19 vaccine mandates so that employers are aware of their obligations under the law. We will discuss the potential legal ramifications that may arise from granting or denying an employee’s request for a religious or medical exemption. And, we will explore the best practices for handling exemption requests, including the steps employers should take to formulate and implement a suitable exemption policy.

This program will consist of a substantive presentation followed by a question and answer period. To ensure that questions are answered, attendees are encouraged to submit their questions in advance of this webinar.

The On-Demand version of this webinar will be available for purchase one week after the conclusion of the live webinar.
