This one-day federal grant management training builds upon FTLF’s Federal Funding Academy, diving deeply into more advanced concepts and issues in the areas of cost allocation and contract and subrecipient management, while also providing an introduction to the various “national policy requirements” that attach to funding in most federal grant programs. 

Join attorneys from FTLF’s Federal Grant Law Practice Group to examine cost allocation requirements and strategies in considerable detail, building from core concepts and legal requirements.

Designed as a follow-on course to FTLF’s Federal Funding Academy, this training is well-suited for personnel with intermediate to advanced levels of experience.

PHILLIP ESCORIAZA

Phillip is Senior Counsel in the firm’s Federal Grants and Health Law practice groups. A native of Puerto Rico, Phillip’s bilingual, nationwide practice serves non-profit organizations, municipalities, local government agencies, and other federal grantees. Prior to joining Feldesman Tucker, Phillip ran a practice from San Juan which spanned corporate, business, public policy, government and contract law, and included contested matters and appeals before state and federal courts. ROSIE DAWN GRIFFIN

Serving as Counsel in the Federal Grants, Health Law, Litigation, and Government Contracts practice groups, Rosie counsels and litigates on behalf of a diverse group of federal grant recipients, including Federally Qualified Health Centers and Head Start programs. Ms. Griffin also defends clients across a wide range of business sectors facing investigations and litigation under the False Claims Act and similar statutes. Ms. Griffin brings deep knowledge to this work, and a unique perspective, having worked for many years at an elite relator’s side firm representing whistleblowers in False Claims Act cases. Scott Sheffler 

A Partner with the firm in the Federal Grants and Health Law practice groups, Scott advises clients on matters of federal grant law, government contract law, and health care law.  Scott assists clients with the myriad requirements that apply upon acceptance of federal grant funding, including the administrative requirements and cost principles established in the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance), the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars that preceded the Uniform Guidance, and program-specific statutory and regulatory funding conditions. Ted Waters

Serving as Managing Partner of the firm since 2003, and a member of the Health Law and Federal Grants practices since 1992, Ted is a national authority in the area of federal grants, particularly in the health and community service spheres. JERRY BERTRAND

As a consultant, Mr. Bertrand has worked in the nonprofit and higher education environments, including OneStar Foundation, Methodist Healthcare Ministries, and Texas A&M International University. He frequently brings his real-world experience to bear in teaching and coaching environments, conducting on-site training for a variety of organizations, including federal (NASA, Department of Labor, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of Health and Human Services, Corporation for National and Community Service) state (California, Idaho, Kentucky, and Texas state governments), local (San Diego County, and the Washington, DC governments) and nonprofit organizations (Habitat for Humanity International, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution).

Participants can earn up to 6.80 CPE credits in Specialized Knowledge and Applications upon completion of all course requirements.

Payment

We accept payment by PayPal, credit card, and check. Payment for any live training is due upon registration. If payment is not received in full prior to the start of the event, FTLF reserves the right to cancel your order and deny you entrance to the training.

Cancellation/Transfer Policy

All cancellation or transfer requests must be received in writing at learning@ftlf.com. Requests for refunds or transfers for in-person events will be granted according to the following schedule:

  • 30 or more days prior to the event, requests for a full refund or a transfer, minus a $75 administrative fee, will be granted.
  • Between 11 to 29 days prior to the event, requests for cancellations will be granted a 50% refund and requests for transfers will be granted, space permitting and subject to a transfer fee.
  • Within 10 days of the event start date, no requests for refunds or credits will be granted. At FTLF's discretion, late transfers may be granted, space permitting and subject to a transfer fee.

CAN I TRANSFER FROM IN-PERSON TO THE VIRTUAL CLASSROOM?
