WHAT IS A WORKSHOP?

Workshops (formerly “Intensives”) are live, in-person training events held for several days at the FTLF Training Center in our Washington, DC office. We try to limit our workshops to a small group size to allow for maximum participation and personal attention.

WHAT IS A VIRTUAL WORKSHOP?

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we moved all in-person trainings to our virtual classroom starting in May 2020. We will proceed with the online alternative until it is safe to resume in-person trainings in our office and bring participants from across the country together in one place. We plan to offer a virtual attendance option once we return to in-person trainings for a period of time. Read the latest updates here.

WHERE IS THE TRAINING?

Virtual trainings are held via Zoom.

Unless otherwise noted on the Venue tab of your Course page, all of our in-person workshops are held in the FTLF Training Center located at:

1129 20th Street NW
Suite 300
Washington, DC 20036

  • First and Last Name

I HAVE A SPECIAL ACCOMMODATION, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Please let us know as soon as possible if you have any food allergies, accessibility needs, or require any other special accommodations. We ask for at least three business days’ notice of any specific requests prior to the training; otherwise, we cannot guarantee full accommodation, though we will make best efforts.

DO YOU HAVE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR HOTELS?

Yes. We have negotiated special rates with several nearby hotels and have provided a larger list of hotels within walking distance of our office. You can find this list under the Venue tab on the Course page for your training.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

We ask that you dress in business casual attire for our trainings. As the room temperature can fluctuate, we recommend you bring layers.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

We provide course materials, pens, highlighters, and post-it flags. You may wish to bring a laptop or tablet to take notes. We also recommend bringing business cards for networking with our attorneys and other attendees.

DO I GET TO KEEP MY MATERIALS?

Yes! The hard copy course materials you receive onsite are yours to keep. For six months after your workshop, you will also have access to electronic copies of the same course materials and any additional resources identified by the attorneys who led your training. Instructions for accessing these materials will be provided in your course materials and explained by a member of our Team. Once posted to your account here, you can view and download the materials as many times as you like during the six month access period. If your access period ends and you need more time, Contact Us.

In accordance with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, these materials are for your personal, non-commercial use so you are welcome to share the materials within your own organization, but not with anyone outside your organization. Unless otherwise noted in the materials, you are prohibited from modifying, copying, and/or distributing any FTLF materials to a third party without our written permission.

WILL BREAKFAST AND/OR LUNCH BE SERVED?

Yes. Continental Breakfast will be available each day of the training from 8:30-9:00 am. Lunch will be served each full day of the training. We also have a full assortment of coffee, tea, water (sparkling and still), and soft drinks. If you have any food allergies, please Email Us at least three business days in advance of the training.
