Responding to Audit Findings

July 21, 2022

Access the on-demand webinar here.

Health Centers have received literally billions of dollars in new federal funding in the past 2 plus years and the audits by the HHS Office of Inspector General, among other oversight agencies, have started.  This webinar will discuss how this new funding  has not changed the core principle that the federal grant system is a “trust but verify” system where compliance is driven by an after-the-fact review of grantee actions; a system where the grantees have the burden of proof to show that federal funds were used appropriately.

In this presentation, FTLF Managing Partner Ted Waters will bring years of experience to bear in his in-depth discussion of risks, strategies, and opportunities in the audit process.  Based upon the legal underpinnings of the federal grant system and government rights to impose remedial measures, Mr. Waters will provide practical guidance for Health Centers on the “do’s and don’t’s” in audit process and audit resolution.
