Risk Management: Business Continuity Planning (1 Day)

Washington, DC US
July 16, 2018

This one-day intensive training session is designed for health center staff members who are responsible for, or closely involved in, the ongoing development of the center’s risk management programs. Business continuity planning is a comprehensive approach for mitigating potential disruptions in operations, which can have significant impacts on health center sustainability. Aspects of business continuity are required under several federal laws and regulations, including the HIPAA Security Rule and the CMS Emergency Preparedness Final Rule.

The training curriculum is designed to provide technical assistance for several planning steps and will cover:

  • Business continuity planning requirements for health centers;

  • Developing a planning team;

  • Organizational risk assessments;

  • Identifying and prioritizing essential services; and

  • Plan development and implementation.

Participants can expect to leave the training not only with a greater understanding of the business continuity processes, but with tools (including samples, templates, and checklists) they can take back to their health centers to develop and implement a robust business continuity plan that can be integrated into the organizational risk management programs.

Registration for this training is limited to allow for conversation, networking and one-on-one support from the trainers.
