Financial Management for Health Centers: Risks and Opportunities

April 26, 2021 to April 27, 2021

Over the past year, Health Centers have received supplemental funding through a number of different funding streams arising out of multiple Acts of Congress. Adding in the core Section 330 funding, plus 340B, Medicaid, Medicare, and other risk-based schemes, Health Center financial and grant management has become quite complex.

FTLF's new two-day intensive training, geared toward senior management of FQHCs, focuses on current streams of funding and approaches to identifying opportunities for contracting and other government programs.  Laying the foundation during the first day of training, FTLF attorneys will discuss the framework of traditional Health Center financial management, including advanced terms and conditions of current FQHC grants, the numerous COVID supplemental funding streams, the in’s and out’s of Medicaid and Medicare PPS, and other government funding.  From there, the workshop will pivot to marketplace strategies including risk-based arrangements, 340B, and other payor sources such as the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Through this workshop, participants will learn to help their Health Centers avoid problems such as audit findings, disallowances and worse, and, second, help their Health Centers find new opportunities to grow and flourish.
