New York CHCs' Advocacy Platform and Board Lobbying Considerations

January – March is the busiest time of the year in Albany for   lobbying & advocacy ahead of the State budget’s passage by March 31st.  In this session, Board members will learn which activities qualify as lobbying and where their activities may be restricted when volunteering on behalf of the community health center that they serve. Following a   presentation on Lobbying 101, presenters will share key priorities and advocacy action items for the 2021 budget cycle, including top threats and opportunities for CHCs in the upcoming fiscal year. Board members will leave   this session armed with the knowledge to successfully advocate for their CHC and push forward messaging to support the health center network.
